MEM: Sheetmetal fabrication

Annual Training Product Development Plan
Training Product Methodology

Trade-qualified sheet metal fabricators are increasingly required to demonstrate digital skills capabilities. They are often called on to work with or produce computer-aided design (CAD). They need skills in setting, editing and operating computer-controlled (CNC) thermal cutting machines and press brakes.

It is proposed to investigate appropriate units that could be used or developed to address these skills required in the MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal working) specialisation to better meet the needs of industry.

We propose to include additional units of competency in the Sheetmetal working specialisation electives, to align with current and emerging industry demands.

Technical Committee and Consultation Strategy

A technical committee has been established to provide industry and educational advice on the project, the proposed training products, and the consultation strategy.
